The Coastal hip-hop scene is feeling the heat once again as powerhouse rapper Careem drops his highly anticipated new EP, Mbunifu Bora Ujuzi Zaidi Ilani. Built on unrelenting lyricism, raw energy, and stellar collaborations, this fresh project showcases Careem at the absolute top of his game, delivering pure, unadulterated rap craft.

The EP hits hard right out of the gate with the opening track, “Si Zaidi Yao.” Careem sets a high standard for the project, assembling a formidable roster of talent including Hozef, Mikkah Dilly, Nafsi Huru, and Tunda Tiziana. Together, they create a powerhouse posse track that lays down a serious marker for what Coastal hip-hop stands for today.

Navigating deeper into the tracklist, Careem links up with fellow prolific artist Brima Maovote—who is also fresh off dropping a new album—on “Checkmate.” True to its title, the track reflects on calculating strategic moves through the proverbial chess game of life, offering listeners a smooth blend of reflective storytelling and sharp wordplay.

For true hip-hop purists, “Akili Za Mistari” is an absolute highlight. The track is pure lyricism—bars on top of bars. Careem tags in Cafu Da Truth, widely regarded as one of the best battle rappers in the country, for an explosive back-and-forth performance. Adding to the track’s distinct feel, rapper and producer HR The Messenger handles production duties, infusing the beat with his signature smooth aura and heavy-hitting bounce.

Rounding out the release are two additional tracks that complete this well-crafted sonic journey. Mbunifu Bora Ujuzi Zaidi Ilani is a masterclass in penmanship and vision from Careem. Keep your eyes peeled and your playlists ready—the EP will be available on all major streaming platforms very soon!
