Three Decades of the Baddest: Redsan’s Historic “Redsan at 30” Celebration
Kenya’s undisputed King of Dancehall, Redsan (Swabri Mohammed), is set to commemorate a monumental milestone: 30 years in the music industry. On August 29, 2026, the Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi will transform into a pan-African stage for the “Redsan at 30” live experience, celebrating a journey that began in 1996.
An Unrivalled Pan-African Lineup
The event’s lineup has evolved into a masterclass of African music history. Redsan will be joined by legendary Ugandan star Jose Chameleone and Ghanaian heavyweight Stonebwoy, bridging East and West African sounds. Adding to the nostalgia are Bongo Flava pioneers AY and TID from Tanzania. The night wouldn’t be complete without the Kenyan duo of Wyre and Nazizi, his longtime collaborators and fellow pioneers of the local dancehall scene.
A Growing Trend of Legacy Celebrations
Redsan follows a wave of Kenyan veterans reclaiming their throne. Recently, artists like Nameless and Jua Cali have hosted similar anniversary events, signaling a shift where pioneers are no longer just “old school” but are celebrated as active icons. These concerts serve as a testament to the resilience of the “OGs” who laid the foundation for today’s global Afrobeats and Gengetone movements.
What to Expect
Fans can anticipate a high-energy production featuring three decades of hits—from “Shoulder Back” to “Badder Than Most.” With Wave 1 tickets currently available, this is poised to be more than just a concert; it is a cultural landmark honoring the evolution of African dancehall.
