The Kisii rap crew KT Family, led by Ibrah and Mkadi, are back with a powerful anthem: Youth for Youth. Featuring Locs40 and Mr. Taning’ora, the track is more than music—it’s a rallying cry for solidarity, resilience, and the courage of Kenya’s youth.

Ibrah recalls the roots of KT Family:

“I started rapping in high school, and that passion connected me with Mkadi. We bonded over music, and that’s how KT Family was born. After school, we decided to chase it fully and professionally.”

The inspiration behind Youth for Youth comes from real struggles:

“Kenyan youth face depression, unemployment, and neglect. The government often turns a deaf ear. As artists, we reflect society and this song is our way of speaking truth

The collaboration wasn’t easy. With KT Family and Locs40 based in Kisii and Mr. Taning’ora in Nairobi, distance posed challenges. But thanks to producer Issa Black and Tona of CT Production, the team pushed through to deliver a track that blends raw energy with a unifying message.
